NEWS UPDATES:

Ducks Unlimited

A young spectator is mesmerized Sunday as 15,000 yellow rubber ducks race down the Big Wood River during the 15th annual Great Wagon Days Duck Race in Ketchum. The race grossed more than $65,000 through duck adoptions, sponsor contributions and merchandise sales. The proceeds will be used to fund student scholarships, various nonprofit organizations, holiday food baskets and Blaine County Search and Rescue. “This is a great event that benefits lots of the valley’s nonprofits, and it’s sure nice to see so many kids have a great time at the event itself,” said Ben Varner, co-chair of the 2011 duck race. This year, the event eclipsed the $1 million mark in charitable funds raised over its 15 years.
