A Bellevue man was transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center on Friday morning after crashing his vehicle into a canal in Bellevue.

A condition report on 61-year-old Greg Vaughan was not available by press deadline Tuesday. St. Luke's reported that Vaughan was transported on Friday to another facility, but information as to where he was taken was not immediately available.

Blaine County Sheriff's Lt. Jay Davis said Vaughan was able to talk to an investigating officer after the accident, indicating that his injuries were probably not life threatening.

Davis said the accident occurred at about 6 a.m. near the intersection of South Main Street and Honeysuckle Lane in south Bellevue.

"The witness who was behind him said he was weaving all over the road and finally ended up in the canal," he said.

Davis said Vaughan was issued a citation while at St. Luke's charging him with misdemeanor DUI.
