The Sun Valley Police Department is investigating the torching of two Sun Valley Resort delivery vans sometime early Saturday morning.
Both vans were destroyed by fire, one in the parking lot and the other on the grass at the Sun Valley Club on Trail Creek Road. Sun Valley Police Chief Cameron Daggett said the vans, one a Ford and the other a Mitsubishi, were still smoldering when police and the Sun Valley Fire Department arrived at the scene after being notified at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
Daggett said the fires are being investigated as arson. He said Tuesday that police have some "promising leads" but no suspects yet.

"It was not an accident," Daggett said.
The police chief said the vans were used by the banquet department of Sun Valley Resort for delivery of food and supplies. They were left parked Friday night by the loading dock at the Sun Valley Inn. Daggett said keys were not left in either vehicle but whoever took the vans "got a key and drove them out there."
Damage was estimated at $40,000.
Daggett said a $1,000 reward is being offered for information "leading to successful prosecution of these crimes." Anyone with information is asked to contact Sun Valley police at 622-5345. Information can also be sent by text message to a confidential tip line at 847411 (TIP411).
