50 solo runners finish Harriman Trail run

Inaugural run over Labor Day

Perfect running conditions greeted 50 solo runners and a pair of two-person relay teams for Sunday's inaugural Labor Day weekend running of the Harriman Trail 10-mile run.

The course went from Baker Creek in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area to Galena Lodge north of Ketchum along the historic Harriman Trail.

Miles Fink-Debray, 23, of Ketchum set a quick pace covering the distance in 1.10:03 for the win over Ketchum's 31-year-old Adam Greene (1.10:42).

Boise's Jenny Tobin, 42, (1.14:48) wasn't far behind for the first woman's position, sixth overall and about four minutes ahead of Mia Stockdale, 47, of Vail, Colo. (1.19:15).

The Motley Crue team of Darlene Young, 52, and Sonya Wilander, 49, won its division with a final time of 1.37:44. The Mahoney's Bar & Grill team of Carrie Mahoney, 35, and Katie Dallas, 23 finished in 1.52:17.

Runners recovered from their race while soaking in abundant sun and consuming great food and beverage offered by Galena Lodge.

Race director Brad Mitchell thanked those who helped make the run a success, including Blaine County Recreation District, SNRA, Galena Lodge, The Elephant's Perch, Pearl Izumi, GU Sports, Backwoods Mountain Sports, Sawtooth Brewery, Roosevelt Bar and Grill and Mountain Fairy.
