Blackout blamed on ‘perfect storm’ of events

Ketchum’s Pioneer Saloon was the lone building in town with its lights on during Christmas Eve’s valley-wide blackout. Manager Jim Freeman said a truck-sized generator mounted on the roof provided the power. “It sounded like a boat,” he said. “The whole back of the building was vibrating.” Photo by David N. Seelig
