NEWS UPDATES:

Lawn Care, Baldy-Style

In preparation for the construction of a new gondola from the River Run base area to the Roundhouse restaurant, a helicopter crew from Oregon began clearing a 60-foot-wide swath of downed trees on Tuesday, May 13. The trees along the path, which runs for 6,200 feet, were transported from Bald Mountain to the River Run parking lot. Project manager Tony Patten anticipates that this part of the project will finish today, but said it’s possible it could take until Thursday to complete. Sun Valley Co.’s plans call for the gondola to be completed in fall 2009, just before the start of the 2009-2010 ski season. Photo by Willy Cook
