Fresh air in Sun Valley

Despite the Mountain Express' view of Mayor Willich' s abandonment of the $75,000 ill-advised contribution to the YMCA, I commend the mayor for acting responsibly.

Although I have nothing against the YMCA, except their begging for money, I do not agree with the Mountain Express that the city of Sun Valley should give them money.

When they began, the YMCA wanted a free piece of land described as covering a certain area. Now, they have taken over almost all of the original park-and-ride lot to provide their parking. The city of Ketchum erroneously succumbed to their pleas to the tune of millions and millions of dollars.

In contrast to the city of Ketchum officials, Mayor Willich is a breath of fresh air.
