Old Man Winter Wakes Up Early

The first days of autumn in the Wood River Valley have felt more like winter, as a cold front brought the first snow of the season on Wednesday and Thursday. North of Ketchum, snow covered the banks of Boulder Creek on Wednesday, above. To the south, snow also covered the hillsides east of the valley between Hailey and Bellevue, lower right. Near Hulen Meadows north of Ketchum, Ketchum resident Carol Updyke didn’t let the wet snow and rain on Wednesday keep her from walking her dogs, Salty and Rascal Photo by Roland Lane
