NEWS UPDATES:

Making A Charge

Ross Saleen, left, and Emmett Ruggeri jostle for the ball during a spirited soccer match Saturday between two teams of third- and fourth-graders at Nelson Field in Hailey. Some 400 kids ages 3-12 are active in the Blaine County Recreation District’s youth soccer pro-gram this year, according to Recreation Director Dave Keir. The program started back in the mid-1990s and offers a fun, healthy activity on Saturday mornings in the fall. “It’s an affordable community program that provides opportunities for the kids in our valley to not only learn the game of soccer, but also to learn good sportsmanship and camaraderie,” said soccer coach Amy Albright.
