Poindexter withdraws from Sun Valley race

By ERIC AVISSAR
Express Staff Writer

Candidate Stephen Poindexter has withdrawn from the Sun Valley City Council race.
“For personal reasons, I have decided to drop out of the race for Sun Valley City Council. This will be my only public statement at this time,” Poindexter said.
Poindexter was making his third run for Sun Valley City Council before deciding to withdraw.
There are now three candidates vying for two seats on the City Council. Incumbent Bob Youngman will be running against challengers Keith Saks and Peter Hendricks. Councilman Nils Ribi has decided not to run for re-election.
Saks and Hendricks are both running for the first time. Saks, a former attorney and licensed professional mediator, is a member of the Sun Valley Planning and Zoning Commission. Hendricks is a member of the city’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. He previously worked in the institutional investment field for more than four decades.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, with the polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
