NEWS UPDATES:

Horse Advocates Broaden Their Range

About a dozen protesters including Cheryl Welch, front, owner of Chapter One Bookstore in Ketchum, gathered in front of the bookstore on Dec. 30 to voice their opposition to a Bureau of Land Management roundup of wild horses in Nevada. Some of the protesters have been active in opposing roundups of wild horses in central Idaho, including one near Challis last summer. A group called The Cloud Foundation (www.thecloudfoundation.org) is encouraging people to voice their opinion on the matter by sending letters to their federal representatives. Photo by David N.
