Hunting For Brown Golf Balls

Why are the woods filled with bent-over people wearing rubber boots and seemingly impervious to Mother Nature’s deluges? Chances are they are hunting for “brown golf balls” —code for looking for morel mushrooms. This year’s rainfall and recent warmer temperatures are contributing to a banner season for these edible delicacies. To avoid spending upwards of $30 per pound for these mushrooms, those with gourmet tastes can take a walk in the woods and keep their eyes peeled for one of nature’s prized offerings.
