NEWS UPDATES:

Centenarian Extraordinaire

Longtime Hailey teacher and librarian Alba Arndt—who turned 100 years old Friday, June 4—accepts a present from the local chapter of the Red Hat Society, a social organization for women. Arndt celebrated Friday with friends and family at the Blaine Manor skilled-nursing facility in Hailey. One former student of Arndt's had 100 long-stemmed yellow roses delivered. She also received recognition from Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter. Balloons, piano music and cake all made for a festive atmosphere. Photo by Willy Cook
