State threatens to eliminate school funding source
Lonnie Barber, superintendent of the Blaine County School District, speaks during a school board meeting Wednesday. He said the district would fight the passage of a bill to eliminate the school budget stabilization levy in Idaho. Elimination of the levy would limit the district’s ability to collect county property taxes, possibly resulting in a loss of $29.5 million dollars from the school’s operating budget.
