ITD crews
stabilize
river bank

Idaho Transportation Department employees Kori Hansen, center, and Ron Robinson, plant willows Wednesday on the east bank of the Big Wood River approximately eight miles north of Ketchum as part of a project to restore eroded areas along the banks. After grading the banks adjacent to the Big Wood River bridge, ITD crews installed rock, willows, and cobble in the degraded area. Robinson, a Hailey-based ITD maintenance foreman, said the project is designed to stop erosion from high water flows. "We got it before it got severe," he said. Express photo by David N. Seelig
