Rememberance & prayers
Valley reflects on Sept. 11 anniversary
One of the many tributes near Ground Zero in New York City is this altar.
It shows many personal items left in remembrance of the 2,800 souls lost in the terrorist attacks Sept. 11, 2001. Among the items are a crèche, buttons, letters, flowers, pictures, badges from many fire departments, a step-stool covered in signatures, and toys, including a fire truck with baby sneakers hanging off the steering wheel. This photo was taken Aug. 27, but the NYC tributes like this one are constantly evolving displays as visitors to Ground Zero add to them daily.
