The team now has 39 runners, a gain of 11 in the past two weeks.

Most of them appeared in good form, too, judging by the results from the Valley Invitational hosted by Jerome last Wednesday.

Natalie Green (23:57) placed second to Gooding’s April Homan (20:50) in the girls’ 3.1-mile run. Molly Meyers was fifth in 24:19, and Rachael Richards was sixth in 24:33.

The Wood River girls’ finished second to Valley in a field of four. Declo was third and Kimberly fourth.

Other Wolverine placings and times: 30—Lindsey Niedrich 29:56; 38—Ashley Baker 32:06; 42—Hayley Strommel 32:05; 43—Jenni Boorda 32:10; 44—Dawn Bird 32:56.

In boys’ varsity action, the Wolverines were fourth out of seven teams. Gooding was first, followed by Declo and Hansen.

Top pacers on the Hailey squad were Matt DeCarufel 17th in 19:37 and Alex Hamlin 18th in 19:38. David Vanderpool was 20th in 19:57.

Brian Ward (20:38) placed 30th, Dawson Paschall (20:53) 33rd, Chris LeBlanc (22:02) 41st, Brad Bradford (22:44) 51st, Artie Livingston (23:22) 56th, Kyle Niedrich (25:05) 62nd and Robbie Hamlin (25:24) 63rd.

In the middle school race, Tess Dahlgren and Devyn Parnes finished 1-2 in the final standings.

The Wood River Invitational will be staged at the Sun Valley Gun Club, today, Wednesday, Sept. 11.

"We would like to thank Sun Valley Company for providing such an awesome venue," coach James Foster said. "From one spot you can see 85 percent of the race."

Middle School runners start at 4 p.m. Jayvee is off the line at 4:45 p.m., varsity girls at 5:30 p.m. and varsity boys at 6:15 p.m.
