Open house slated for new high school
Students, staff, and community members are 
invited Thursday, Aug. 21, to step over the new Wood River High School’s 
threshold and attend the dedication and open house for the school. It is 
scheduled for 5-8 p.m.
Along with a ribbon cutting and thank-yous, 
students will be offering tours of their new school to all that are interested. 
"We really want to make this about the kids," said WRHS Principal Graham Hume, 
"because its their school and their event." 
"We are very proud of our new high school 
facility, and we would like to invite everyone to share in our excitement and 
sense of accomplishment," said Blaine County School District Superintendent Jim 
Lewis, "The School Board, Facilities Planning Committee, architects, 
construction management team, and more recently, staff and administration, have 
done an excellent job in preparing this facility for your inspection." 
The Education Foundation of Blaine County 
is selling personalized engraved pavers for the entrance to the high school. The 
purchase of a paver benefits the Education Foundation, which provides special 
project funding for classrooms for teachers and students. To purchase a paver, 
contact Blaine County School District Treasurer Mike Chatterton at 788-2296, or 
purchase one at the open house.
