Sawtooth Relay returns Saturday Stanley to Ketchum

Summer officially begins Saturday with the running—and walking—of the 12th annual Sawtooth Relay 62-mile trek from Stanley to Ketchum.

Six-member teams will complete 12 running and walking legs starting in the wee hours at Stanley Elementary School and ending Saturday afternoon at Atkinson Park in Ketchum.

Nine local teams are entered including these teams (with their captain names):

"Joe Kugots Flying Fish #34," with captain Karen Morrison; "Runtime Errors," with captain Ron Buell; and "Running on Empty," with captain Katie Rauch;

Also, "Wood River Rockets," with captain Nancy Higgins; "Foxy Flyers Too," with captain Nicole Brown; and "Will Run for Beer," with captain Daryl Fauth.

Last year about 430 people on 71 six-member teams played leap frog along S.H. 75 from Stanley to Ketchum. The "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," team from Ketchum won the women’s division in 7.25:54.

Sawtooth Relay is a non-profit corporation benefiting the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation and Idaho Donor Network.
