America's No.1 bicycle road race flashes around Elkhorn
The worlds top female cyclists competed Saturday in Elkhorn in stage 3 of
the HP Laserjet Womens Challenge. Diana Ziliute of Lithuania edged cycling great
Jeannie Longo of France by less than a bikes length on the difficult 18-lap,
1.8-kilometer course. Racing downhill at almost 50 miles per hour, racers suddenly faced a
wall of a hill on each lap. Longo held a 6-second overall lead on Tuesday. The 11-stage
race ends in Boise on Sunday.Express photo by Willy Cook |
