Winter coming? No big deal
A black-billed magpie flies near Dollar Lake in Sun Valley. Magpies belong to the family of birds known as corvidae, which also includes
crows and ravens. Magpies stay in the region in the winter, playing an important role scavenging for carrion in place of turkey vultures,
which fly south to warmer climates. Magpies, which have earned the wrath of many humans, have a complex social and hierarchal structure
