Build it, and they will come

Bellevue Mayor Chris Koch, middle left, cuts a ceremonial ribbon on Sunday at O’Donnell Park in Bellevue to celebrate the completion of a new ball field. The ceremony was followed by a tournament that featured several local softball teams. Design of the new field consolidated space that will allow for expansion of youth soccer programs at O’Donnell Park. Funding for design and construction of the new field was provided entirely by volunteers, led by Blaine County School District employee Jeff Jones and fellow Bellevue residents and softball players Rich Lang and Brandon Ivie. Leagues will continue to use the park and concession stand all summer, city officials said.
