Singing pirates



Diva Suzanne Vinnik will sing opera and jazz as part of the Sun Valley Opera Winter Festival from Feb. 19-22, which will feature a performance of the opera “Pirates of Penzance.” The festival will start with a comic opera lecture by R.L. Rowsey at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at The Community Library in Ketchum. The Winter Diva Gala, featuring soprano Vinnik, will be held in the Sun Valley Lodge Dining Room from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 20. On Feb. 21, the festival will feature a Broadway and Gilbert & Sullivan Classics Concert starring Vinnik and the Gilbert & Sullivan Players at the Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum, at 7:30 p.m. Finally, the festival will offer a performance of the “Pirates of Penzance” at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Center in Hailey at 7:30 p.m. For more information, go to www.sunvalleyopera.com.
