Elect Kathy Baker to school board

Kathy Baker is running for the Blaine County School District board of trustees.
She is a woman with integrity and vision. She cares about the children of the Wood River Valley. She believes in the importance of our children receiving quality education, and has put in the effort to understand what that means and take action in order to make it a reality.
Kathy has been very involved with the school system.   Currently, she is the co- president of the Hailey Elementary PTA, she attends school board meetings and learns what is happening with our children’s education. She even started the science fair at Hailey Elementary to get kids enthused about science and sharing their knowledge.
Even with this list of accomplishments, her greatest accomplishment was increasing awareness about the new math curriculum and the process by which it was selected. Through her efforts, the district learned that it is imperative to involve the community when selecting a new curriculum, and also to train teachers thoroughly before implementing a new curriculum. She also initiated curriculum presentations to parents, giving parents information about the unfamiliar math concepts that were being introduced by the new curriculum. There is no doubt that through her efforts our student’s mathematics education has been enhanced.
Kathy Baker will provide transparency and intelligently informed decisions to our school board. If you want a person who truly cares about the education of our children, cast your vote for Kathy Baker.
