NEWS UPDATES:

Migrating Speedsters Take A Break

Two pronghorns look out for danger in the sagebrush grasslands of southern Blaine County last weekend. Pronghorns—known colloquially as pronghorn antelope—are the fastest animal in North America, with the capability to sustain speeds of more than 50 miles per hour. Both sexes of this grassland herbivore grow horns, which split into branches, or prongs, hence their name. Males have bigger, more pronounced horns. Pronghorns are also known for their long migrations—up to 150 miles in some parts of the West. Photo by Willy Cook
