Join school officials for coffee

Trustees and administrators from the Blaine County School District will hold another Coffee With the Community forum on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 8-9 a.m. at the Golden Elk Expresso and Bakery in Hailey.

The forums are held periodically throughout the school year for members of the public to have informal discussions with school officials. There are no presentations and any topics may be discussed.

 

Twilight Snowshoe date changed

The date has changed for Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research’s eighth annual Twilight Snowshoe event.

The event, which combines a twilight snowshoe trek and cocktail party to help raise funds for breast cancer research, will now be held on Friday, Feb. 15, as opposed to Jan. 18 as previously advertised. The soiree will take place from 5-8 p.m. at The Valley Club. Tickets cost $75.

 

Strategic planning for nonprofits 

A seminar on “Strategic and Scenario Planning” for nonprofit organizations will take place at the College of Southern Idaho Blaine County Center on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Seminar leader Duncan Ferguson has served as a consultant on strategic planning for groups in the United States and abroad, and is actively engaged with several international peace and justice projects.

The seminar is part of CSI’s Nonprofit Education Initiative. The seminar will be held at the Community Campus in Hailey. Tuition is $20 for the single seminar and $50 for the full three-part series.
