Agencies to consider budgets, planes

Recreation District and Airport Authority to convene next week

By KATHERINE WUTZ
Express Staff Writer

Early next week, the Blaine County Recreation District will set its 2013 budget and the Friedman Memorial Airport Authority will meet to discuss regional jets.

The Recreation District's board of directors will convene Monday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Community Campus in Hailey with the intent of discussing projections for the end of fiscal year 2012.

The board will also discuss an application for Nordic skiing in Croy Canyon, an application that will come before the county Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday, Aug. 9.

A public hearing to consider the district's budget for 2013 will begin at 4 p.m.

The Airport Authority will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 5:30 p.m. at the Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey.

On the agenda is an update on an environmental assessment to determine the impact of regional jets on neighborhoods surrounding the airport. According to airport staff, a draft assessment has been completed and will be released to the public early this month.

The Airport Authority will also consider a contract with T-O Engineers to conduct a technical study of improvement options for the existing airport site. The board also plans to discuss rates and charges and the airport budget for 2013.

A full agenda and meeting materials are available at www.flyfma.com.
