Edmund Christian Jilli, 96, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012. He was born May 12, 1916, in St. Moritz, Switzerland. He was an avid skier who worked as sports director at the Sun Valley Resort from 1939-1943. He served the U.S. government for the next 30 years in overseas assignments, retiring in Arizona in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Edith, who passed away Feb. 16, 2011. He is survived by four children: Edmond (Jeanne) Jilli of Geneva, Switzerland, Rita (Bill) Volmer of Naples, Fla., Evelyn (Kent) French of Tucson, Ariz., and Mary Jane (Kevin) Spurlock of Herndon, Va.; and six grandchildren, David Jilli, Valerie Jilli, Emily French, Spencer French, Alison Spurlock and Bridget Spurlock.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on June 7 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Tucson, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marana Lions Club, 2266 E. Celosia Way, Oro Valley, AZ 85755.
