NEWS UPDATES:

Across Nation, Tributes Honor Bowe

A U.S. Marine staff sergeant salutes in honor of captured and missing soldiers Sunday during the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The salute preceded the arrival of thousands of motorcycle riders, many of whom wore yellow wristbands with the name of captive Hailey-area soldier Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, 26, who was taken prisoner in Afghanistan nearly three years ago. Bergdahl’s father, Blaine County resident Bob Bergdahl, spoke at the rally, which attracted an estimated 400,000 people. “You will come home,” he said of his son. “We will not leave you behind.” Courtesy photo by Daniel Mills
