Town Series pushed back a week
Unsafe ski conditions forced a postponement of last Wednesday's Town Series dual modified giant slalom races on Baldy's Cozy ski run, so the last two events in the 21st annual series will be today, March 21 (party at Fresshies in Hailey) and the final combined two-run event Wednesday, March 28 (party and awards at Whiskey Jacques, Ketchum).
Ski Club Championships reset for Sunday, April 1
Saturday's heavy Baldy snowfall caused a rescheduling of the Sun Valley Ski Club Championship giant slalom race on the Warm Springs side. The event is now planned for Sunday, April 1 at 10 a.m. and will include two runs on Cozy. Race registration will be from 8-9:30 a.m. that day at Warm Springs Lodge. Cost is $15 per racer.
This year's event is being held in honor of ski club member Gene Timmons, who died recently of cancer. It is open to non-ski club members, Town Series teams, Mountain Divas and cross-country Vamps, NASTAR racers and Masters Race Clinic participants. Kids can also race if their parents are competing.
