SVSEF alpine racers in Canada, at Copper

Farrow podiums in J1 super G


Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation alpine racers tested the waters this week at two competitions—Nor-Am speed races Dec. 6-7 at Nakiska, Alberta, Canada and the Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 5-7 at Copper Mountain, Colo.

Best result at Nakiska was Tanner Farrow's second-place finish in the J1 (ages 17-19) class, 20th overall, during Tuesday's super giant slalom won by U.S. Ski Team racer Erik Fisher, 26, of Middleton, Idaho. Miles Fink-Debray placed 11th overall in Tuesday's SG.

Wednesday at Copper Mountain, J1 racers Harlan Collins (26th overall), Connor Farrow (41st) and Tanner Dirstine (52nd of 134 racers) placed 12-21-26 within their age category.

Top super giant slalom results from Copper Tuesday were Connor Farrow (10th J1, 17th overall), Collins (19th overall, 11th J1) and Dirstine (34th overall, 20th J1).
