A Call To Action

Donna Thibedeau-Eddy, executive director of Tranquil Valley Sanctuary in Malad City, Idaho, rides through Hailey Tuesday as part of a campaign to raise awareness of captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, a native of the area. Thibedeau-Eddy is part of a group of horse lovers who question if the government and the military are doing enough to get Bergdahl released. “Since Bowe is 8,000 miles from home, we plan on riding 8,000 miles to increase awareness of his plight,” Thibedeau-Eddy said. At her ranch, Thibedeau-Eddy matches rescued, rehabilitated horses with invited veterans undergoing psychotherapy treatments so that both animal and soldier can heal together. After arriving in Hailey, she met with Bergdahl’s mother, Jani Bergdahl.
