Swimmers make a spring splash in Boise

YMCA weekend contest

Coach Brian Gallagher and 12 of his SV5B/Wood River Community YMCA swimmers sampled the season May 14-16 during the annual Spring Fling competition at Boise's YMCA.

Kaedi Fry led the way with first places in 100 back, 50 back and 200 back. Lena Friesen captured gold in the 200 IM. Several SV5B swimmers earned silver—Brett Bosley in 800 free, Matt Reidy 50 breast and Olivia Wentzell in 50/100 breast.

A summary of the personal bests at Boise follows:

Taylor Coiner, 18: 9—200 free. 14—100 back. 15—50 free.

Michael Coiner, 18: 10—200 free and 50 free. 11—100 back.

Tori Emerick, 16: 3—50 back. 8—200 back. 13—100 free. 16—100 back. 21—50/200 free.

Brett Bosley, 15: 2—800 free. 4—50 back/400 free. 5—100 free. 7—100 back. 11—50 free.

Lena Friesen, 15: 1—200 IM. 2—400 IM/200 breast. 4—100 breast/50 fly. 9—100 back.

Elizabeth Fry, 15: 8—400 IM.

Colby Werley, 15: 4—400 free. 6—50 fly. 12—200 IM. 14—100 free. 19—50 free/200 free.

Tayler Bates, 14: 3—50 fly/50 back/100 fly. 5—200 free. 7—100 free. 8—50 free.

Matt Reidy, 14: 2—50 breast. 7—50 back. 9—100 breast. 14—100 free. 15—200 free.

Kaedi Fry, 13: 1—100 back/200 back/50 back. 2—400 IM/200 IM. 3—100 breast. 6—200 free.

Loni Unser, 12: 7—50 free/100 breast/50 breast. 12—100 free/200 free. 15—50 back.

Olivia Wentzell, 12: 2—50 breast/100 breast. 3—50 free/50 fly. 8—50 back/100 free.
