When Hallie MacPherson and Brooke Sundholm went to bed at 9:20 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, they had set their alarm clock for 12:30 a.m. in anticipation of a specific pre-dawn mission. It was their intent to be first in line for the opening of the Donuts' Lodge in Ketchum on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 a.m. Wrapped in a blanket, the girls awaited the Donuts' Lodge fresh-baked goodness dripping in sugar, which was in their mouths by 1:05 a.m.
The Donuts' Lodge is Ketchum's newest eating establishment, on the corner of Washington Avenue and Fourth Street. Owner Ian Reed and partner Danielle Edelman have been working for months to open the eatery, which features colorful, painted walls, funky Andy Warhol-inspired furniture and lots of fresh-out-of-the-oven doughnuts.

The store's opening had a line around the corner and sold out of 80 dozen doughnuts by 12:30 p.m. The shop closed on Saturday afternoon so Reed and Edelman could make more doughnuts.
An assortment of doughnuts, including pineapple upside-down cake, Bavarian creme, glazed and poppers, are sold individually and by the dozen. More items are said to be coming, including specialty coffees, entertainment and artist-inspired gatherings.
