A night out for sportsmen Saturday

Ducks Unlimited dinner in Ohio Gulch


The Wood River chapter of Ducks Unlimited will stage a "Waterfowler's Party and Sportsman's Night Out," on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Blaine County Gun Club, Ohio Gulch.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. Apple's Bar & Grill will cater the barbecue-style buffet dinner. The guests can win prizes including framed art, decoys, layout blinds, hunting accessories, clothing, rifles and shotguns.

Bird hunting season is coming into full play in the Gem State. Duck hunting season begins in early October and pheasant hunting season runs from Oct. 18-Dec. 31.

Wood River Ducks Unlimited is part of the nationwide wetlands conservation group.

Tickets purchased prior to Sept. 18 were priced at $50 for singles and $85 for couples. The cost includes the meal, a Ducks Unlimited membership, free T-shirt, access to the silent auction and raffles and games.
