Basking in Obama’s Limelight

Hailey filmmaker Chris Pilaro sports an appropriate tie at Tuesday’s Inauguration Ball at The Mint in Hailey.

Judging by the political button worn on his suit collar Sun Valley City Councilman Nils Ribi was a happy camper at the Blaine County Democratic Party’s Inaugural Ball, held Tuesday night at Sun Valley’s Limelight Room. “I was enjoying the moment for the first time in my life that we have a president who is younger than me,” Ribi said.

Attendees at the Blaine County Democrats’ gala celebration respond to a speech made by outgoing chair Betty Murphy, who then turned the reins over to new chair Nancy Whiton. The celebration was attended by nearly 260 people. “It was a patriotic night I thought, and a good way to go out after six years,” Murphy said. After watching the inaugural speech and parties on the big screens, the Kevin Kirk and Sally Tibbs Band induced a great flurry of lively dancing well into the night.
