President Obama Is In

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, Barack Obama was sworn in by U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts as the nation’s 44th president. "I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you’ve bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices made by our ancestors," he said. A crowd stretched from the Capitol to the Washington Monument and beyond to witness the historic event. "On this day we’ve gathered because we’ve chosen hope over fear," he said. "Starting today we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin the work of remaking America." Photo by Associated Press
