Article was unfair to ranchers

The front-page article of the Mountain Express on Oct. 29, "Guv rouses Republicans in Hailey" was completely biased. You chose the most displeasing photo you could depicting Gov. Butch Otter and the event. The Express writer Tony Evans went on to portray the farming and ranching communities as far-right red-staters. These agriculturalists deserve our respect and pride, regardless of politics.

Tony, how do you think you eat every day?

You can go to any supermarket and find quality produce, bread, meat, cheese and milk. You can go to a restaurant and have a fine meal. Thanks to these dedicated ranchers and farmers, America feeds itself and the world.

Heaven forbid difficult economic times approach us and prices soar or these products become scarce. You will probably be the first to voice complaint and blame.

Viva the hardworking farming and ranching families of this country and cheers to those who wear cowboy boots and belt buckles! I thank you.
