?Our eyes are on you?

We of Barton Flat, working in conjunction with local law enforcement, have organized a "Community Crime Watch" in our area. Barton Flat is located in the Big Lost River drainage, Custer County, and extends from the upstream end of Mackay Reservoir, west to the State Fish Hatchery, and north towards the Bartlett Point Road.

With 97 percent of Custer County federally owned, we are astounded why some fisherman, hunters and campers choose to blatantly trespass on private land and disregard our rights. We wonder if these same individuals would be concerned if we came to their neighborhood and camped, hunted and trespassed in their backyard.

It is not right that our families have to live in fear. This is the reason some of us fought in wars for our country to "ensure peace and freedom from fear." We are serious about our rights and are firm believers in the United States Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights, including the 2nd Amendment (Right to Own and Bear Arms), and in turn, the 6th Amendment (Criminal Prosecution-Jury Trial, Right to Confront and to Counsel).

Please be aware the next time you visit Barton Flat, our eyes are upon you.
