A Sun Valley happening for women golfers

100 enjoy eighth women’s invitational

It happened in Sun Valley for 100 golfers during last week’s eighth annual Sun Valley Women’s Invitational golf tournament staged on the Sun Valley and Elkhorn golf courses.

Winning the "A" flight in gross stroke totals were Kitty Willard of Elkhorn and Elise Ebbert of Los Angeles. In the two-day best ball and modified Chapman format they carded scores of 73-70 for 143-130.

Judith Hinds of Elkhorn and Connie Smart of Santa Clara CC captured "A" net honors with a 123.

Other flight winners in gross stroke totals were Arlene Herich of Elkhorn and Sue Holzer of The Valley Club; Gail Lincoln and Deb Sievers of Elkhorn; Frances Baskett and Dottie Brox, also of Elkhorn.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Shirley Renick and Linda Fennen. Long drive winners were Char Sinclair and Edith Goodman.
