Laurent Perrier pops the top on annual
tilt
Women’s soccer tournament at Atkinson
Park
Second in its home tournament last season,
the Laurent Perrier women’s soccer team is gunning for first place this season
and the coveted magnum of eponymous champagne.
The annual tilt hits the Atkinson Park
pitch this weekend. This year’s field – one of the biggest to date – features
six teams, including squads from Boise, Ketchum and Logan, UT. Last year’s title
was taken by Boise ABC. The capital city side beat Laurent Perrier 3-0 in the
final.
Saturday’s games start at 10 a.m. with Sun
Valley versus Logan City. The Boise Superstars will be the local gals’ opponent
at 5 p.m.
Laurent Perrier hits the field at 8 a.m.
Sunday against Milligan’s Panthers.
Stepping in for Park City, who cancelled
at the last minute, Ketchum plays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and 9
a.m. Sunday.
Sunday’s consolation match will be played
at noon and the championship will be at 2 p.m.
An all-you-can-eat and drink barbecue will
be held at the picnic shack at 6 p.m. Saturday night. It is open to fans,
friends and players. The cost is $5.
