RESULTS
Color Haus 8, Lefty’s 7
On an evening featuring three
serious routs, this was the best game by far. Tied 2-2 in the home third, Color
Haus went up 6-2 on jacks by Josh Jacobson (nice bruise), Jeff Burrell (nice
catch) and Dan Gearhart (nice pitching). Lefty’s climbed back in on RBI hits by
Frank "The Cupper" Salvoni and Bryan Speth in the fourth and took a one-run lead
in the fifth on back-to-back belts by Tony Mallane, Caleb Donegan and Britt
Oversby, and a single by new dad Buff Rixon. In the home sixth Lars Hovey (nice
friends) slugged a triple to set the table for Brian Burrell (2 hits), who
gapped a homerun to right center for another lead change at 8-7. In the top of
the seventh, Heffe ran down a potential homerun by Donegan to lock up the win.
Color Haus (13 hits): Hovey 2 hits, 1 run. Chris Benson 2 hits (double). Bonnie
Burrell 2 hits (double), 1 run.
Lefty’s (15 hits): Dave Hausmann 3 hits, 1
run. Diane Johns 3 singles, 1 run. Bryan Speth 2 doubles, 2 runs.
View Point 26, Pioneer/SV Associates 2
Despite the drubbing the Pioneer
never gave up. Down 23-2 in the fifth, the Pio flashed some serious leather,
gunning down a View Point runner on an 8-6-1 play at the plate. The Pointers
were stoking the ball like Sammy Sosa at BP with 28 hits in five frames – 18
went for extra bases. View Point (28 hits): Georgia Hutchinson 4-for-4 (2
triples), 3 runs. Robin Sarchett 2 HR, triple. Wendy Hosman & Rod Watson 3 hits,
3 runs each. Jay Singleton 3-for-3, 1 run. Pioneer (6 hits): Brian Rhgh 2 hits
(double). Dillon Witmer 1 hit, 1 run. John Panghella HR. Molly & Karoka Jolma 2
hit each.
Whitehead Landscaping 22, Cellar Pub 12
More plate action than Charles Barkley at a Golden Corral for the Whitehead
crew. After a 1-2-3 first inning, Whitehead rattled the bats and the Cellar,
scoring all 22 runs in four innings to vault into a two-way tie for sixth place.
Whitehead (18 hits): Vilnes Nickolaisons four hits (triple/2 doubles), 3 runs.
Julie Gardner 3 hits (double), 1 run. Anthony R. 2 hits (2B), 3 runs. Amanda
Black 1 hit, 3 runs. Cellar (16 hits): Ben Flandro 3 hits (triple/double), 3
runs. Billy Cook 3 hits (2B), 3 runs. Damon 3 hits (HR/2B), 2 runs. Amy H. 2
hits, 1 run.
Firefighters 25, Sawtooth
Club/Roosevelt 3
Sawtooth Club was booting worse than freshmen at a frat party. The Clubbers
committed 11 errors, which led to eight runs by the Firefighters. Not that KFD
needed any help. The pole huggers belted 21 hits in five innings to move into a
3-way tie for second place. The standings will shake out next week with KFD
dueling the Color Haus and Casino taking on View Point. Firefighters (21 hits):
Matt Zachary 4 hits (2 triples, double), 5 runs. Pam Rudolph 2 hits, 3 runs. Ken
Edwards 3 hits, 1 run. Matt Christian HR. Ken Rudolph 2 hits, 3 runs. Sawtooth
Club (6 hits): Eric Ayers 2 hits, 1 run. Chris Thie 2 singles. Warren
Christiansen 1 hit, 2 runs. Lisa Vadalma single.
Casino 17, East Ave. Bistro 11
Trailing 8-4 in the home third, the Casino went to work, scoring five runs to
take a 9-8 lead. Anthony Anderson (3 hits/HR) and Matt Stacey (3 hits) both
doubled in the frame and sushi queen Brenda Griffin (3 hits) belted a triple to
put the Casino on top for good. Casino (20 hits): Jill Morse 3 hits, 3 runs.
Idie Mawby 2 hits, 2 runs. Joe Reali 2 hits (double), 3 runs. East Ave. (10
