Whitehead came out with a bang and left with a whimper. The landscapers scored 4 runs off seven hits in the first two innings, then only managed one more hit until the seventh, when they rallied for three runs off five knocks. #1 View Point stayed that way, socking 17 hits, including eight of the extra-base variety. View Point (17 hits): Robin Sarchett 3 hits (HR/3B/2B), 2 runs. Georgia Hutchinson 2 hits (triple), 2 runs. HR: Rod Watson, Nelson Drewien. Whitehead (13 hits): Vilnes Nicolaisons 3 hits. Pioneer/SV Associates 21, East Ave. Bistro 12
Even Gerard was getting a little stressed out over the Pio’s goose egg in the win column. But Duffy’s right hand man can rest easy. The Pioneer picked up its first win of the season, compiling a crushing .558 team batting average. Call them a (full) cut above the rest. Pioneer (19 hits): Jamie M. 4 hits (triple), 3 runs. John F. 4 hits (double), 3 runs. Brian B. 3 hits, 3 runs. East Ave. (17 hits): Carrie S. 3 hits, 1 run. Dave S. 2 hits (HR). Brian T. 2 doubles, 3 runs. Karen M. 2 hits, 1 run.

Casino 14, Lefty’s 7
Even Paris Hilton at four in the morning could see this one was over by the third frame, when the Casino pushed six runs over the plate to take a 10-6 lead. Both teams went limp at the plate after the third, combining for only 11 hits. Casino (19 hits): Craig Morse 3 doubles, 3 runs. Anthony Anderson 3 hits (HR/3B), 2 runs. Jerod Bell 3-for-3. Jill Morse 2 hits, 2 runs. Lefty’s (15 hits): Bryan Speth 3 hits,1 run. Nicole Buckwalter triple, run. Buff Rixon 3 hits (2B), 1 run.

Firefighters 19, Cellar Pub 4
The Firefighters 7-hit, 9-run first frame spelled doom for the Cellar, who managed only seven knocks the whole game. Firefighters (19 hits): Ken R. 3 hits (2 triples/double), 3 runs. Keith Potter 3 hits (triple/2 doubles), 3 runs. Lindsay Vorst double, 2 runs. Alysia Heyer & Pam Rudolph 1 hit, 2 runs each. Ken Edwards 2 HR. Cellar: Jake R. 2 HR. Maggie M. & Harrison M. 1 hit, 1 run each.

Color Haus 13, Sawtooth Club/Roosevelt 12
ESPN has Web Gems and Color Haus has Shannon Webb who makes plays who are gems. Webb robbed Shane Zalac with a diving snag at second to cut short a rally by the Sawtooth in the fifth. In the top of the sixth, leading by one, Webb scored what turned out to be the game-winning run on an RBI triple by Lars Hovey (3 hits). Eric Ayers (3 hits) solo HR in the home sixth went for naught. Color Haus (16 hits): John Rathfon 3 hits (2 doubles), 2 runs. Jeff Burrell 3 hits (HR/2B), 1 run. Bonnie Burrell 2 hits, 1 run. Brian Burrell HR.
