Valley Club brings members together

36-hole Better Ball golf

The Valley Club staged its Member-Member Shootout in a 36-hole Better Ball/Chicago Format June 26. Here are the top-placing golf results in the seven flights:

Butch Cassidy Flight: 1—Jack Dies and Curtis Gardner +4 ($70 each). 2—Todd Conklin and Tim Flaherty –1 ($57.50). 3—Dave Cropper and Page Roos –6 ($21.25), Carmen Bradley and Rich Fabiano –6 ($21.25).

Wyatt Earp Flight: 1—Dick Shelton and Woody Woodward –3 ($70 each). 2—Gene Holman and Mike Burke –4 ($50), Dick Powers and Dan Murphy –4 ($50).

Jesse James Flight: 1—John Martinson and Bruce Kaplan +7 ($70 each). 2—Steve Malkmus and Roger Brown –1 ($57.50). 3—Ron Fields and Tom Held –2 ($42.50).

Billy the Kid Flight: 1—Tom Flynn and Bill Pierpoint +5 ($70 each). 2—Rod Lemense and Jack Reilly +4 ($57.50). 3—Rick Flickinger and Jim Sedin +3 ($42.50).

Doc Holliday Flight: 1—Dave Almquist and Bill Johnson +14 ($70 each). 2—Jerry Mells and David Berman +11 ($57.50). 3—Steve Bates and Steven Karassik -5 ($42.50).

Annie Oakley Flight: 1—Jan Wygle and Sue Woodyard +11 ($70 each). 2—Jill George and Linda Cropper +2 ($57.50). 3—Carole Almond and Barbara Shelton -1 ($42.50).

Belle Starr Flight: 1—Julie Schultz and Mary Louise Sedin +5 ($64 each), Melinda Elliott and Heather Flynn +5 ($64 each). 3—Jeanne Landreth and Jean Tagliapietra 0 ($42.50).
