The Expedition Inspiration Fund
for Breast Cancer Research, based in Ketchum, announced that Robert Cray
and his band will play for its fourth annual summer concert.
The outdoor concert Wednesday,
June 23, at 6:30 p.m. will be held at River Run Lodge. A special opening
guest band will be announced soon.
This concert is one of the larger
events held to benefit Expedition Inspiration’s 9th Annual Laura Evans
Breast Cancer Medical Symposium, to be held in Sun Valley in February
2005. It also contributes to medical research grants.
Expedition Inspiration’s "Summer
Soul-Stice" Concert" will feature Cray, a well-regarded blues and
southern soul stylist known for his tight musical arrangements and
concerts.
"This five-time Grammy Award
winner and his band are sure to entertain his audience with smooth sound
and great instrumentals," Katie Powell, director of EI, said. Sponsor
tickets are $150 apiece and include a pre-concert reception and
preferred seating. General Admission tickets are $40 apiece. The grounds
open at 5:30 p.m. for a reception and at 6 p.m. for general seating. The
music starts at 6:30 p.m. Picnics are welcome. As always, there will be
on site bar service.
