Sanders bags
title at Burley

Wood River’s Scott Sanders was the boys’ medalist at a four-team golf meet at Burley Municipal Tuesday.

On the par-72 course, Sanders shrugged off cold and wet conditions to fire a seven-over 79 and boost Hailey to a second-place finish.

Teammate Brady Bever came in at 93. Alex Bliss and Cooper McCroskey also competed for the Wolverines.

Declo carded a 360 to win the team competition. Wood River scored 372, Oakley 441 and Valley 489.

Rachael Pace was the top Wolverine in the girls’ competition with an 18-hole 123. Lisa Feldhusen and Adrianna Maniere also played the course.

Coach John Braafladt said the team is going to start practicing at The Valley Club this week, which will improve games and lower scores.

"Once we get everyone there, I think we are going to play well and compete," he said.

Wood River takes the bags to Kimberly for a meet at Pleasant Valley Golf Course next Tuesday, April 13.
