Valley Club
hires new pro
Stoney Brown leaves Boise for
valley
The Valley Club, after a
three-month search interviewing over a dozen golf professionals from
half a dozen western states, has hired Stoney Brown to lead its golf
operations.
Brown has worked as head golf pro
at Boise’s Crane Creek Golf Club for the past 29 years.
"He knows Idaho," says Valley Club
governing manager Barry Bevers.
When the Valley Club opens its
tees on April 15, Brown will commence leading the Hailey course’s
golfing operations.
Brown knows the rules of golf
better than most. He has officiated two Ryder Cups and 10 PGA
Championships. Brown has received the PGA’s prestigious Horton Smith
award given annually to the three national pros who have shown the
greatest dedication to the game.
Tommy Sanderson will continue to
be the main teaching pro at the Valley Club as Brown focuses on the
greater task of managing the pro shop, merchandising, and all the finer
points of golf operations.
The Valley Club is proud to
welcome Stoney Brown to its operational team.
