Green makes
        All-State BB
        First WR girl so honored

        Wood River High School senior
Natalie Green has been named to The Idaho Statesman’s All-State 3A
girls’ basketball team for the 2003-04 season. She’s the first Wolverine
        girls’ basketball player so honored.
        The Statesman will reveal its
statewide All-State prep selections in its issue of Friday, March 26.
        Green, Wood River’s all-time
leading scorer, added another laurel March 16 during the Magic Valley
All-Star girls’ basketball game at Twin Falls High School gym. She
scored 11 points including two 3-pointers in the East’s 53-40 win over a
West team that featured many Jerome players.
Jerome, of course, never lost a
game this season en route to its first-ever State 4A girls’ tournament
title. "We were heavy underdogs," said Wood River coach Brent Carnduff,
who shared the West coaching duties with Shoshone coach Tim Chapman.
        Carnduff said, "We spread the
floor and let the girls be athletes. It was really good basketball
played by both teams. And it was also fun to hand Jerome its first loss
        of the year."
        Wood River’s Jessica King and
Emily Smith, also West All-Stars, each scored four points in the
        victory.

        Carnduff named top coach

        Coach Carnduff, who guided the
Hailey girls to their first-ever state tourney visit, has been named
"Coach of the Year," in post-season honors voted by coaches in the
        Sawtooth Central Idaho Conference (SCIC).
        Carnduff has given the team’s
annual Most Inspirational Award to three Wolverine seniors—Natalie
Green, Jessica King and Emily Smith.
        He also announced that junior
Syringa Stark has been named to the Idaho Elite Travel Team for the
        upcoming summer season of games.
