Sun Valley hosts
state hockey
For eight teams, starting today
Coming off its huge tournament
victory in Utah over Presidents’ Day weekend, the Sun Valley Midget high
school hockey team is gearing up for another big effort.
Sun Valley is hosting the Idaho
Amateur Hockey Association High School State Championship tournament
Friday through Sunday, Feb. 20-22. Eight teams are expected.
Besides Sun Valley, plans call for
three teams from Idaho Falls, two from Boise, one from Salmon and one
from Moscow. Games start tonight and continue through Sunday, Feb. 22.
The Wood River Midgets open Friday
with a 5:15 p.m. game against Eagle, then play at noon Saturday against
Hillcrest of Idaho Falls. A "Senior Salute," to the Wood River senior
players at 7:30 p.m. will precede Saturday’s 7:45 p.m. game between Wood
River and Skyline of Idaho Falls.
Semi-finals begin Sunday at 7:45
a.m. and the championship game is Sunday about 2 p.m.
