Bridging
the Wood
Fox Creek bridge installed Tuesday
Crane operator Jim Thorpe and
Bellevue contractor Dale Sluder discuss the finishing steps needed to
bridge the Big Wood River at its confluence with Fox Creek. Thorpe, who
drove from Twin Falls Tuesday morning, said it took six hours to drive his
crane to the Wood River Valley with a mile-long line of cars behind him
most of the way. It took a fraction of that time to set the bridge. Next
spring, the new bridge will provide foot, pedestrian and equestrian access
to Fox Creek, Chocolate Gulch, Lake Creek and Oregon Gulch trails.
